StuCo is hosting a Blood Drive with Carter Blood Care at Wakeland on Monday, November 11. We want to collect as many units as possible. We have a goal of 75 units. Come help volunteer to assist the participants. Stay tuned for more details.
Wakeland High School will be playing Prosper High School at Memorial Park this Friday October 11th
Wear your best orange and blue!

Energy and Environment is planning on planting a community for Wakeland, updates will be posted regarding the status of our tree.
Pink Out The Park is the Week of October 14.
Pink Out tee shirts will be on sale Tuesday and Wednesday outside the cafeteria.
Wednesday Student Council is painting cars for Pink Out. Pick up an order form at A120 and leave it on your dashboard Wednesday morning.
Thursday is Pink Out the Park against Centennial. Wear Pink Thursday and to the game. The cheerleaders are doing face painting during lunch and Student Council will "paint your face" at the game.
Friday night Pink Out the Gym with the Wakeland's volleyball team.

Upcoming Events
Student Council Meeting - Wednesday October 9 at 8:30 am and 4:15 pm. Meeting place will be announced.
Watch for activities planned for Pink Out the Park the second week of October and Red Ribbon Week.
District Meeting
Ten Student Council members attended the TASC District 3 meeting at Boswell High School on Saturday, September 28, 2013. They learned about new and exciting events and activities to bring to Wakeland High School.

Homecoming
This year's Homecoming Dance theme is Red Carpet. The Homecoming dance is Saturday, September 21 7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. at the Fieldhouse USA in Frisco. Tickets are $20. Stay tuned to announcements during 2nd period for more details.

How to get involved
A student council is a collection of student leaders who work with a school sponsor to impact their school community and high school experience. Student council works to promote:
Citizenship, by promoting individuals to have a say in the organizations and society they are involved in.
Scholarship, by encouraging the highest standards for education.
Leadership, by giving individuals the ability to have their voice be heard and make a change.
Human Relations, by working with school administrators and sponsors to form a project or fundraiser.
Cultural Values, by growing school pride and a school culture.
