How to get involved

A student council is a collection of student leaders who work with a school sponsor to impact their school community and high school experience. Student council works to promote:

Citizenshipby promoting individuals to have a say in the organizations and society they are involved in.

Scholarshipby encouraging the highest standards for education.

Leadershipby giving individuals the ability to have their voice be heard and make a change.

Human Relationsby working with school administrators and sponsors to form a project or fundraiser.

Cultural Valuesby growing school pride and a school culture.

How to Get Involved in Student Council at Wakeland

Who: Sponsored by Mrs. Greene (greenej@friscoisd.org) and Mrs.
            Kelley (kelleys@friscoisd.org)

What: Plan school activities and fundraisers, such as
              Homecoming, Blood Drives, Pink out the Park, Sadie Hawkins,etc.

When: Meeting times will be determined at the beginning of the school year.

Where: TBD

Why: Getting engaged with student council allows you to
             have personal involvement in every aspect of

             Wakeland High School! Student Council also looks
             great on college applications and creates many
             opportunities to accumulate service hours!
